The inclement weather resulted in the
cancellation of Congleton parkrun. Even so, several Striders still managed to
run their usual Saturday morning parkrun.

Three Striders travelled to Delamere Forest
for the parkrun there. Mat Simister finished in 25:30, with youngster Nathan
Lee narrowly behind in 41:55 having out sprinted his mum Lucy who finished in 42:00.
Christiane Bunte ran the Lytham Hall
parkrun, a three lap course around the Georgian Palladian style country hall near
the Ribble estuary in Lancashire. Christiane finished the course in 25:08.

James Boon took a short break from his
holiday to run the Fountains Abbey parkrun near Ripon, North Yorkshire. James
finished the two lap course in a time of 24:58.

On Sunday, 18 Striders ran the Helsby
half-marathon. After the cancellation of the 2015 event, the race organisers
had worked hard to ensure that whatever the weather this year’s event would
still go ahead.
