Manchester Winter Run

Lee-Ann Galway completed the Manchester Winter Run in 48:06.  She said of the race ‘If you're after an inaccurately measured 10k featuring dancing dogs and a samba band, this would have been the race for you. Still, I got pancakes afterwards so it wasn't all bad!’

Saltburn Marathon

Paul Nicholls was out on the hills again for the Saltburn Marathon.  He said of the race:

‘Had a really tough ultra today on the Yorkshire moors in the most horrendous weather. It was so bad with snow gale force winds hailstones and the most amazing mud. However, you can only improve in the races you take on and I am happy to say that despite the atrocious weather I managed to come home and finish over 30 miles in under 7 hours and 25 minutes quicker than my last attempt at this brutal run.’

Not content with running 2 tough trail runs in February, Paul also complete his 50th parkrun.

Knypersely Pool 5
Knypersley Pool is a  5 mile trail run around Knypersley pool reservoir, followed by a long uphill climb through woodland, over Biddulph moor before returning around the lake back to the finish. It's a challenging course, very muddy (trail shoes a must) but equally rewarding with some beautiful scenery. It has a very friendly feel, with cake stalls raising money for charity as well as tea, coffee and soup for all the finishers. The race has a nice quirky touch, with the mayor donned in hat and gown rings his bell says a few amusing words before sending runners on are way.

Warrington Winter Track Marathon
Stephen Mclean thought it would be fun to run around a running track 105 times in the Warrington Winter Track Marathon. With music all the while keeping runners motivated, Stephen completed the race in 3:51:34.
