Crewe Déjà vu 2 is now full!
With over 4½ months srill to go until race day we are very pleased to announce that the Crewe Déjà vu 2 is now full!
50 entries have been received, 12 of which are from members of Sandbach Striders.
A reserve list will be in operation soon in case we have any drop-outs

Race Report: Potters 'Arf #2 11/06/2012
In the book of Revelation, St John describes a
vision of hell containing a beast with seven heads, where ‘every head was a
hill’. Apparently most theologians think that this was a cryptic reference to
his persecutors in Rome, although last Sunday morning I started wondering if
the vision of hell was of another city, also built on seven hills but in
Staffordshire rather than Italy…

On Sunday four striders braved the hot blistering sun to
take part in the Potts Arf
Marathon. As I approached the first mile, memories of 2006 came flooding back.

On the rare occasion of a morning off while working in Germany recently I decided I’d take a short drive to the Harz Mountains & have a go at running up the highest mountain I could find – this it turns out would be the mythical Brocken.
TheBrocken itself has a peak 1141m above sea level & is (according to Wikipedia)

Striders carry the torch for the real Olympic Relay
In the very early hours of the morning on Friday the 8th of June 2012,
five intrepid members of Sandbach Striders gathered together at Crewe
Railway Station to await

the arrival of the unofficial olympic torch. It was their job to deliver it safely 12 miles

the Westbridge 5 some time ago. On my way there the wind was howling

The alarm clock rang on Saturday morning signalling a weekend of very early get-ups. It was 3am and a quick drive down to Luton Airport was ahead of me ready for my 7am
