About us

Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.

Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

Striders at the New Year's day parkrun


Striders returned to Astbury on Saturday morning to join 242 runners for a muddy and foggy run around the mere. Full results were:

Striders at Congleton parkrun

Paul Barnett took part in the inaugural Hyde Park parkrun, joining over 320 runners and completing the course in 20:55.

Tracey Sturridge completed Delamere parkrun in 31:53.


On Saturday afternoon, Striders ventured in to the world of Cross Country, entering 2 teams in to the Cheshire Cross Country Championships at Birchwood Forest Park. The course was particularly muddy – boggy in places at the photos prove – and was a challenge for those taking part in their first event of this kind. Results were commendable and were as follows:

On Sunday morning our Titchy Striders headed over to Marbury park, Northwich to take part in the Junior parkrun, a 2km run for 4-14 year olds. Well done kids. Results were:
