About us

Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.

Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

"No Ordinary Running Club!"

Crewe Déjà vu: The Photos!

The photos from the Crewe Déjà vu 2011 are finally here!

Sorry for the delay folks, we hope you enjoy them. Maybe see you all again next year? ;-)

You can view and download all 651 photos at http://www.photobucket.com/crewedejavu

Thank you once more for supporting the inaugural Crewe Déjà vu Marathon.

The success of the day was made possible by:

You wonderful runners for having such a friendly, positive and easy-to-please attitude.

The beautiful and sweet smelling members of Sandbach Striders Running Club for making the day possible and allowing the three supposed organisers to actually run the race.

The amazing, patient and infinitely tolerant friends and family of Sandbach Striders.

The lovely, generous and awesome companies who gave us their help and support and asked almost nothing in return, more specifically:

Cheshire East Council for hiring out such great facilities for such little actual cash.

For Goodness Shakes yum yum yum protein stuff (and Grant "Guy Fawkes" Stanning for arranging all this.)

HS Sports for providing us with world-class chip timing, friendly and helpful service and at a price that, and this is no exaggeration, made the whole event possible. If you are a race organiser I urge you to phone these chaps ahead of anyone else.

Michael, Jason and Giles
