About us

Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.

Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

Kit Report: K-Swiss Running Shoes

K Swiss Running Shoes

As you will see from the photo that Mik took I have new running shoes. Yes K-Swiss.

I had never heard of this shoe until Evonne drew my attention to her shoes. They are
extremely light and the sole is  made up of tubular rubber grips (no gel). It stated that they were “stability” and well cushioned.

I was a bit sceptical at first as I am an overpronator and I need good support hence I usually go and buy Asics.  I found that they were great on short distances but if you came to mud or hit a rainy patch they were slippy underfoot.  I will definitely use them for short road races, not off-road.  They are also ideal if you just want a pair of trainers for walking in or to look smart with some nice denims as they are white and hot pink.  I got them in a sale from the website at the bargain price of £26. They have since gone back to their original price of £56.

More information can be found on the K-Swiss website

Liz
