Club secretary Heather Carter was the first Strider home and finished in an incredible time of 6:22. Jo Bulley along with husband and wife Gordon and Cheryl Hutchins finished in 8:07. Martin Gunther and David Parr were next in in around 8:30 and they were closely followed by Tom Mayell, Jill Young and Karen Lovatt in quick succession. To have six new ultra-marathon runners in one event is very unusual and shows what an iimpressive achievement it was from each runner. Incredibly Tom Mayell had never run a race longer than a half-marathon before taking on this challenge.
