Paul Nicholls and Gordon and Cheryl Hutchins headed to Warwickshire for the Heart of England Marathon, a walk / run event. Starting in the Medieval market town of Henley in Arden the route passes through the village of Ullenhall and then the magnificent Coughton Court. The course continues through the town of Alcester then skirts Oversley Wood and several more thatched hamlets before arriving at Aston Cantlow. With food stops, mud and styles a-plenty, this was ‘get round’ run as opposed to a race but all three finished in under 6 hours.

Paul Barnett and Stephen Mclean attended another local race – the Chester Marathon and Metric Marathon.
Paul opted for the 26.2 mile option and earned himself a personal best time of 3:28:19.
Stephen went for the metric marathon – 26.2 km – and finished in 1:57:37.
Both routes are on closed roads and take you past all Chester's iconic landmarks (Roman Walls, Cathedral, Medieval Rows, Eastgate Clock, Amphitheatre) before heading out to the stunning Cheshire countryside and villages. The metric marathoners join the marathon runners at Aldford  and begin the return journey, coming into Chester alongside the River Dee for a unforgettable finish at the Racecourse. The support in the villages and communities along the course is one of the many highlights of the race.
