About us

Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.

Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

This week's news: 31/05/2015

Members of Sandbach Striders Running Cub once more featured in events around the county and further afield.
Duncan Robertson at Conwy parkrun
Duncan Robertson continued his streak of running a different parkrun course each week by running his third ever event at his third different course. The 5k parkrun route in Conwy in North Wales starts at the RSPB site, the Conwy course is generally nice and flat, with the exception of twice needing to cross a pedestrian bridge. It is an 'in and out' layout with excellent views of the castle and an invigorating sea breeze! Duncan finished the route in 25:17.

Andrew Gibson ran the Warrington parkrun in a time of 27:30 and Lynsey Astles ran the Delamere parkrun in a time of 28:41. Michael Escolme joined 413 other runners to run the Basingstoke parkrun. This event is a two lap route around the scenic War Memorial park near the centre of Basingstoke and run on a mixture of grass, woodland and tarmac paths. Michael finished in 31:39.
