About us

Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.

Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

This week's news: 09/03/2015

Members of Sandbach Striders participated in nine different events around the country and abroad this weekend.

At Congleton parkrun Sandbach Striders provided 12 marshalls whilst another nine runenrs participated.

Meanwhile at Princes parkrun in Liverpool Paul Barnett, after six months out sue to injury, finished in 23:17.

At Hanley parkrun Michael Escolme finished in 25:46 whilst at Delamere Tony Ward finished in 27:24. Over in Ireland at the St Anne’s parkrun just north of Dublin Denise Dowling finished in 28:06.

Paul Nicholsl ran the Wrexham marathon in 4:27:54.

At Oulton Park Tony Taylor and Heather Carter ran the Asics 10k in 41:03 and 41:59 winning their respective categories. Tom Mayell ran the half-marathon version i 1:51:21.

In East Yorkshire Steve Treweeks alogn with Jo and Jason Bulley ran the 27 mile Golden Fleece Circuit in 5:25.
