About us
Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.
The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.
Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

On Thursday the Wizard 5, a mixed terrain event which started at the National Trust car park in Alderley Edge.
Six Striders took part with club secretary Heather Carter finishing 2nd in her age category.

The second 'Southport Half-marathon' was held on Sunday 6th July. I entered this race for one reason, it was a flat course.

Race Report: Berryhill 10k 01/07/2014
Tonight I ran the Berryhill 10K. Three things crossed my mind. 1 Why did I agree to do this race. 2 Why did I not remember it was three loops and I had to conquer that hill three times. 3 Why did I do spinning and also kettlebells yesterday (doh).

Race Report: Arley Hall 10k 29/06/2014
I did the Arley Hall 10k this morning.
The race was delayed by fifteen minutes to allow competitors to use the toilets, almost 500 runners plus all the spectators and only 6 portaloos.
