Meanwhile club chairman Michael Escolme made the trip north to try out the recent addition to the parkrun family at Ormskirk. Michael completed the hilly two lap course around the Edge Hill university campus in 24:10.

On Sunday it was the turn of the Air Products Crewe 10k. This two lap course takes in many of the sights of Crewe and offers runners a fast and flat course.  Five Striders ran the 10k which consisted of two laps starting on Electra way.

Prior to the 10k, a 5k Easter fun run was again organised. Amy Mayell along with her son Adam (aged 6) completed the 5k course in 35:27, four seconds ahead of his mother. This was Adam’s second 5k race since his 6th birthday, he is definitely looking like being a talented runner of the future.

Sandbach Striders are a small, friendly running club who welcome new members. Beginner-friendly sessions are held every Wednesday at 6:30pm at Elworth Cricket Club.
