Race report: Telford Parkrun / Hardmoors Osmotherley Trail Marathon 16+17/02/2013

Telford Parkrun 16/02/2013

My weekend began with a trip down to Telford for their inaugural parkrun . I wouldn’t normally have travelled quite so far for a 5k but the chance of bagging both a new parkrun course and another inaugural event was to good to miss.

Marshalling at the Congleton Parkrun

Today (Saturday 2nd February)  I volunteered to marshal at Astbury Mere since I was going to race the Alsager 5 on Sunday. I got there at 8.30am but first I had to meet a young girl who won a Kindle White prize from a competition I had organised at the College.

Race Report: Alsager 5 03/02/2013

Today I ran the Alsager 5, despite waking up at 3am with a stinking head cold.  As the weather had picked up at 10am I thought I’d be ok to run it. When I arrived at the race I notices that there were lots or people warming up in only their vests but as it had started to rain and there was a little wind I decided to keep on my long sleeve top.  Now that was a stupid decision.
