About us
Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.
The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.
Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

This Week's News: 25/04/2016
It was the iconic London Marathon this weekend and it is difficult to watch 40,000 people run 26.2 miles across London and not be inspired by the amazing efforts of all involved. Five of our club members did their own bit of inspiring by taking part but marathons aren't for everyone and whether you are running one mile or 26.2 miles, it can still be a personal achievement. The club is two-thirds of the way through the Couch to 5k programme and participants are now running for 25 minutes constantly when they couldn't run for two at the start of the programme.
The weeks racing began with Darren Varley taking part in the Milford Murder on Thursday.

From the usual parkruns, through to cultural tours of Manchester on foot, and with locations from Congleton to Bulgaria, Striders this week took part in a myriad of events this week.
Races began early with three Striders taking park in the Trajan Chester Spring 5, a 5 mile gently undulating road race starting and finishing at the Cheshire County Sports Club playing fields in Upton.

Race Report: KMF Newcastle 10K 03/04/2016
Well I’m well pleased. I ran this race in 2013 and I
think I also did it in 2014. My time then was 58.15. Today,
I smashed it and finished 4th in my age category with a time
of 53.51. Denis did 1.01.

This week's news: 03/04/2016
It was a relatively quiet week for members of Sandbach Striders – six different parkruns, a trail run, a local 10K, a 10k further afield, and a local half marathon were all taken on and conquered.
For starters, five Striders ran this week's muddy Delamere parkrun.
