This was a nice little 10k around Tatton Park in Knutsford, Cheshire in aid of age uk, the race started at 09:00am with one lap around Tatton park estate with a mix of trail paths and estate roads.
This race had a
good mix of runners from club to beginners out for a good spring
challenge and the atmosphere was buzzing from the start, good facilities
were to be had with ample toilets, a burger bar, and live music with a 20 min warm up just before the race to get you in the mood. Great organisation too with plenty of encouragement.
I
started reasonably close to the the front at the start to try and avoid
being packed in which worked well sustaining a nice steady 6:00 - 6:30
min/mile pace for the first couple of miles then easing back for a nice steady second half and finish, I was surprised not to see more trail shoes on peoples feet as it was muddy on the small trail paths, but it was a nice day for racing with some sun and t-shirt weather.
I finished in 42:43 in front of my running bud Dave who got a pb today...good running all round.
