Congleton Parkrun
(5k) – Saturday 17th March
Three Sandbach Striders in the top 10 and a host of personal
best times at the Congleton parkrun this week, a fantastic result.

Delamere parkrun (5k)
– Saturday 16th March
The third parkrun was held in Delamere Forest on Saturday.
Among the 86 runners taking part two were from Sandbach Striders, Martin
Gunther finished in 25:02 and Nathan Woodbine finished in 27:17.

This was a 20 mile race around the Elan Dam in Rhayader, Powys.
The weather was as challenging as the hilly course with hail stones, snow and it
was very windy.

Tatton Park 10k – Sunday
17th March
This was a nice little 10k around Tatton Park in Knutsford,
Cheshire in aid of Age UK, the race started at 09:00am with one lap around
Tatton Park estate on a mix of trail paths and estate roads.

The race had a good mix of runners from club to beginners
out for a good spring challenge and the atmosphere was buzzing from the start,
good facilities were to be had with ample toilets, a burger bar, and live music
with a 20 minute warm-up just before the race to get you in the mood. The race
organisation was great and there was plenty of encouragement from the marshals and
spectators.
Striders Mat Simister and Christiane Bunte entered along
with Christiane’s Daughter Sophie and Husband Matthias.
Mat Simister finished in 42:43, Christiane Bunte in 53:38,
Sophie Bunte in 1:00:49. The time for Matthias Bunte is yet to be confirmed.
Stafford Half
Marathon Sunday 17th March
The 2013 Half Marathon starts in Stafford Street (town
centre). The route will head off from the town centre into Stafford's
surrounding countryside on traffic-controlled roads, incorporating two steady
climbs before returning to the Market Square via Victoria Park.
