Annual General Meeting
As you will no doubt know it's the AGM on Wednesday 27th March so there will be no running that evening.
Instead we invite you to attend the annual general meeting where we will report on the year's activities, answer any questions you may have and elect a new committee. There will be a bar service and we will supply nibbles, hopefully we can all hang about a bit afterwards and enjoy a drink and a chat too.
As a member of Sandbach Striders you can submit a question to the committee which will be discussed at the AGM, these must be submitted before Wednesday 20th. Email myself or any other member of the committee (whose contact details are on our website.)
We will also need to elect a new committee. We welcome anybody no matter how long or not they have been a member to stand for a committee position. New blood is very welcome and helps us to keep the club fresh with new ideas and new viewpoints.
The following positions are available:
- Chairperson
- Treasurer
- Club Secretary
- Social Secretary
- Press Officer
- Coaching / Welfare Officer
There is also room for two other people who might assume new roles such as attracting new members or managing the race calendar or club kit.
If you wish to stand for election to one or more of these posts, please either let a member of the committee know either via email or in person or by adding your name to the election sheets on the club noticeboard. I will add the nominees to the website nearer the time of the AGM.
Please don't think that because there is someone already in the role that you feel that you don't want to stand against them! We're runners and we are used to competition :-) Seriously though our club needs an enthusiastic and vibrant committee in order to continue to grow and flourish. In the event of more than one person standing we will hold an anonymous vote at the AGM.
