Trent valley's, in a WORLD HERITAGE SITE.

This race started at Sandwell Park Farm, West Bromwich in
the West Midlands. Run in conjunction with the
Sandwell Show and linking the 6 towns that make up the borough of Sandwell, the
run includes country parks, open spaces with minimal road running and the race
makes extensive use of the canal system that was the life blood of the Black Country during its heyday.
The route includes 1.75ml of the famous Netherton Tunnel recently
refurbished by British Waterways at a cost of £230,000.
Striders Jo Bulley, Jason Bulley and Michael Escolme

12.12 Trail – 26th
Aug
A festival of running, that’s the “BIG Running Weekend”,
with events for everyone. The start and finish of every trail race is from
Whirlow Hall Farm on the outskirts of Sheffield and shoulder of the Peak District
National Park. There is
the New Balance ULTRA Tour of the Peak District, 12.12 miles Trail
Race or the Whirlow Trail Challenge 10k. Plus, there are Junior Runs,
Natural Running Courses and Orienteering.
A brand new event and race route for the Peak District. With
stunning scenery, superb running trails, tracks and views across the Dark Peak
that will be long remembered.
At around 12.12 miles the route has roughly 2077 feet of
ascent and whilst there are no monster climbs it is a challenge for any runner.
This race shares some of the qualities of a fell race, with some
navigation required yet remains essentially a trail race using good tracks and
public rights of way.
