Langley 7 5th November 2011
It was a 2 pm start from the lovely village of Langley near
Macclesfield, really nice and sunny weather for early November.
Steering is made more difficult when running with your eyes closed. |
The
start was next to the Village Hall and slightly downhill for the first
mile, then a slow steady climb which got steeper and went on for 3
miles.
I did not feel very well after having a hydrogel at the start and definitely did not enjoy the long climb.
Eyes wide shut. Still. |
But I was rewarded mid way with a gorgeous view down to Macclesfield and the rest of the race was very nice , steadily flat and downhill, and at least that made me run quicker.
The finish was at the end of the reservoir near the
Teggs Nose top- lovely countryside.
Instead of the goody bag you got an ale or a cider .....- not happy with my time, but might do again with prior training to master the dreaded hill part - and hope some more striders are coming to join me next year.

How much quicker would she have been with her eyes open? |
