On Saturday there was a record attendance by Sandbach Striders at the Congleton 5k parkrun with 20 members of the club running the three laps of Astbury mere, five of whom cycled there and back in preparation for an upcoming triathlon. Lindsay Beeston continued his run of good form with a new personal best, as did Andrew Gibson who was spurred on by the club’s Mr Motivator Terry Coppenhall.

Molly Pheasey had a financial incentive from her mum Clare this week to improve her time and managed to knock three minutes off her personal best thus tripling her pocket money for the week. Kelly White and Paul Morris made the successful transition from the free weekly couch-to-5k course the club regularly puts on to complete their first parkruns. Isobel Bennett also proved once more that it isn’t just new runners who can show an improvement by recording yet another 5k personal best time.
