Also in marathon action on Sunday Alan Pearson ran his home
town marathon. 26.2 miles of Huddersfield might not be to everyone’s tastes especially
when the route is known to be one of the more challenging marathon courses in
the country. Alan finished the course but results have not yet been published.

For 17 other members of Sandbach Striders running club a
day-trip to Liverpool on Sunday beckoned. As part of the regular series of
social runs the club organises for its members during the year, a 15 mile trip
around the sights of Liverpool was on offer. The journey took in all the Beatles
related landmarks and many other places of historical interest, but much to the
surprise of several Striders the total distance actually came in at 20 miles.
