The Heartbreaker Run
Festival 2013 – Sun 24th Feb
Starting from the Sandy Balls Holiday Park in Godshill,
Fordingbridge in the New Forest, there were various choices in distance, 10k,
14mile and Marathon.
Michael Escolme and Jason Bulley at the Heartbreaker marathon |
The route heads out on tarmac for the 1st mile then turns
off onto the well-made gravel tracks of the New Forest
to take in the run as used in the Forestman Triathlon which is fairly
undulating to say the least.
This is an out and back route on a "T" shaped
course so there is plenty of opportunity to check out the opposition's
progress.
The course runs through The New Forest |
The last mile is back on the road and downhill (but will you
notice?) to the finish.
Two Striders entered the full marathon distance, Michael
Escolme and Jason Bulley, their finishing time was 4:58:27
Knype Pool Charity
Race (5m) – Sun 24th Feb
Starting at Knypersley Pool, Greenway Bank Country Park, near
Biddulph this was a 5 mile all off-road trail race around Knypersley reservoir
and through the surrounding woodland. A surprisingly cold morning which found
most of the reservoir covered in ice but the paths were in good condition and
the whole route was very well marshalled.
Perry Wyatt, Robert Kettle, Liz O’Keeffe and Tom Mayell
|
Four Striders entered, their times were as follows. Tom Mayell
(41:11), Robert Kettle (45:22), Perry Wyatt (47:14) and Liz O’Keeffe (50:26)
