About us

Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.

Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

"No Ordinary Running Club!"

Race Alert! Tatton Yule Yomp - 11th December 2011


The Tatton Yule Yomp will take place at Tatton Park on the 11th December 2011, already there are a few Striders who have signed up for the 10k. There is also a 3k fun run which allows
entries on the day.

Entry is £11 (+ processing fee) but the event looks like it might be a bit of fun - especially if we all run it in fancy dress! 

If you haven't yet posted a fancy dress run for the Alternative Series then this might be the race for you!

Paul N did this last year and says... "it's quite well supported and local.It's filling up fast and there is not normally on the day entries. It' s a really nice 10k event and a good fast course although it is part path part trail and part road it's a great course to post a decent time on. There is normally a strange but really nice goody bag, (no t shirt), I have entered today and a few others have shown some interest, so would be a nice little event to have some fun at.Taxi service available of course :-) or lift accepted. "
