Race Report: Dovedale Mini Mountain Marathon 25/07/2012

On this hot and balmy Wednesday evening, 8 Sandbach Striders travelled to Thorpe Mill Farm, Dovedale, in the Peak District, to take part in a mini mountain marathon. The event was open to fell runners, road runners and strong walkers, and involved scoring as many points as possible within 2 hours.

The clock has started so it's time for frantic route planning.

Teams of one or two were allowed. However we did team up to make threes.

Race Report: Great Warford 10m 29/07/2012

Having struggled to improve on any of my Pbs this year, I decided a different tactic was needed so I entered for a distance I have never run before therefore guaranteeing a pb.

Alan managed 84^th place out of 345 finishers in 1.07.13

Race Report: The Wizard 5 12/07/2012

The Wizard 5  is a great race for those wanting to dabble in off road running whilst not getting too muddy or going to far.  It is about a third track, a third grassy fields and a third road so the terrain is not too testing.

Race Report: Trentham 10 15/07/2012

Being married to the Chairman of Trentham Running Club meant I got roped in to helping out at the race today prior to actually running it. I was put on car parking duty for over an hour. I never knew that the little field at the side of the school could take so many cars.

and it wasn’t until I arrived at the transition area that I realised it was such a competitive field. To summarise it was me and 700 or so, very serious and experienced Triathletes. It was the Triathlon equivalent of entering a 5 mile race to find you are only up against the Kenyan Olympic squad.
