About us

Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.

Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

This week's news: 07/09/2015

Eleven members of Sandbach Striders running club ran the free weekly 5k parkrun at Astbury Mere in Congleton. Unfortunately there were no new personal best times this week.

Michael Escolme ran the 5k Hanley parkrun, finishing in a time of 30:41.

Paul Barnett was in action at the site of the original parkrun at Bushy park in London. Paul finished the course in 21:42

Giles Hodges ran the South Cheshire 20, a 20 mile road race around the country lanes near Shavington. Giles finished in a time of 2:33:39.

Tony Taylor was in action in Wales, at the Llyn Breig 9 mile trail race in Denbighshire, Wales. Tony finisihed in a time of 1 hour 11 seconds and came 8t overall, winning the V50 category.

Nine Striders were in action at the Sandbach 10k with Tim Morris leading the field finishing in second position overall.
