An important heads up about this years Cross Bay Challenge.
Clare, Danny and Catherine enjoying a cheeky paddle. |
As you may know we have now chosen the Cross Bay Challenge as our summer social event - which means a weekend (or a day trip if you're a lightweight) of beer, tents and running through sand and sea water.
The race is HUGELY popular and will sell out some time in advance of race day, so get your entries in now to avoid disappointment.
We will be organising camping and a mini-bus nearer the time.
More information is available from their website.

Here is some blurb if you're unfamiliar with the race.
Cross Bay Challenge is a truly unique way to experience the stunning
scenery of Morecambe Bay and the South Lakes. Historically the quickest
route from Cumbria to Lancashire at low tide, the bay crossing dates
back to the 13th century when monks from the local abbeys served as
guides to travellers. Whilst the monks have now been replaced by
highly-experienced guides equipped with a host of navigation and safety
equipment, the experience of being out on the sands remains as
breathtakingly beautiful as ever.
With the choice of a half marathon (the only known race in the world to
cross a tidal bay and consistently one of the UK's highest rated
races!) or a family-friendly 6 mile walk that finishes in the same place
as the runners in time to cheer them over the finish line, there’s
something for everyone.
